Just took back a RG260....when they drilled the piezio hole in the side of the saddle slot they pushed through and went into the brace....I would have missed it but was looking at the inside of the top and saw it. They could have fixed it and I never would spotted it. The laminated top sounded excellant....too bad. The RG260 I bought fooled me....when I first played it it was better then most of the 1500.00 + premium guitars. There's also another thing to consider.....mahogony vs rosewood. A laminated rosewood back can be similiar to a mahogony solid back. This can fool people

Listening with headphones again and while they all sound great, that GYM60HD in the A-Bs is for me THE standout!

I hope some time you could expand on string gauge and why you think 12s at a minimum. I understand potential energy but? Is there a certain line that you can’t cross in structural integrity that won’t allow 10s to be effective or is it for other reasons? I like 10s because I can get a tighter setup and they produce less tension than 12s or 13s but you are the expert here. Would love to know your thoughts.

Great Video, Thanks for being so objective and honest. Helps inspiring builders more than you can imagine. Results were not as I suspected. Also, you saved me a bunch of effort as I wanted to try this experiment. I wonder, do you think that the coating cancels out slight +/- frequencies around the note making it clearer? Seems more prevalent in the low frequencies IE.. the satin verse full gloss. Do you see less lefty to right of target note? And finally, do you think there is less decay due to subtle stiffness from the coating is the big contributor to tone improvement when proper thickness is achieved? I was told Bear Claw is from the wood taking up so much water that some of its fibers (xylem cells) burst. More common near rivers/streams etc. One example of how acoustic music is a literal collab w nature. Cool...

The Honduran series have been out about five years now. Why is this the first mention that it's not really Adirondack. I get that some consider red spruce the same regardless of where it comes from. But why wasn't this mentioned in any of the previous videos? I for one thought my original Fym60hd had Adirondack spruce from the Adirondack region. Nothing was suggested otherwise.

My DYM60HD is every bit the guitar that is advertised and more. With most things in life that I've gotten excited over, the reality of having that thing rarely exceeds the excitement of getting it. This guitar has lived up to that type for me.

I have the GYM-70CESHB, FYM-70, and FYM-60HD. I love them all. I'm on the fence about getting the DYM-60HD or the GYM-60HD?

The FYM is to my ear the best of the bunch and it's a perfect size. BUT not available in the UK. Why is that?

I get super excited every time I see one of your new videos show up in my feed!! I’ll tell you, I’ve been thinking about the Yairi OMs but I am definitely a grand auditorium lover and have four of them (one is a baritone) from three different companies. I was really thinking I wanted to get a Yairi FYM, at some point, and it is still definitely on the table! I have a Furch Yellow Master’s Choice Gc-CR Cedar-Rosewood w/ Cutaway. However that Yairi Addie-Honduran GYM has really peaked my interest and falls sonically into my sweet spot! I’ve listened to some on the Alvarez compare and it sounds incredible! That may be the perfect complement to my Cedar- Rosewood guitar!

My Yairi DYM60HDE is my favorite acoustic of the past 61 years. 1.75 inch nut, great balanced volume, wide performance timbre, seemingly infinite volume dynamics, visually beautiful in every aspect, superb tone. It is my #1 by far. After selling around 50+ acoustic guitars (my personal collection) in the the past 15 years I am loving: #1, Yairi DYM60HDE; #2 Martin 2018 D-18; #3 Yairi DYM75 (1.75" nut): #4 Gibson 2000 Advanced Jumbo (Adirondack top). I think my DYM60HDE might be a one-of-a-kind. It is superb. I am so lucky I found it.

I was a little concerned when Chris made the comment that there are alot of backorder and they're working to correct that. Please don't turn Yairi into production guitars. It will ruin their reputation and history they have worked so hard for. But then again I can't see Yairi agreeing to change that much.

So I just bought one and I’m going to say the fit and finish was not that impressive. Swirl finish marks and fine scratches everywhere, and the inside had little bits of wood that should’ve been blown or vacuumed out as well as some kind of dust or dirt covering the sticker label in the sound hole. I wouldn’t brag about that. THAT SAID IT IS THE BEST SOUNDING OM MODEL I’VE EVER PLAYED. Had to shout that last part because it’s more important.
